SCGD Member Meeting

The Sedgwick County Grassroots Democrats meetings are held the second Monday of each month. Meet & greet begins at 6:00 PM. The meeting is called to order at 6:30. Guests are welcome.
Our speaker will be Peggy Jones-Foxx from the Wichita Black Nurses Association.
I have been married since July 27, 1997 to Marvin A. Foxx. Together we have one daughter, Chelsea E. Foxx age 26. She is a graduate of Wichita State University as of 12/12/21 with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Barton School of Business. My husband is employed by USD259 for over 38 years. He is semi-retired, and works at Chester Lewis. I have eight brothers and sisters, and we are all very close. I have worked in medicine for over 30 years in Women’s Healthcare, OB/GYN, Labor & Delivery, and as a Private Office Nurse in Reproductive Medicine in both Wichita and Kansas City, Missouri. The last ten years I worked in Higher Education for the University of Phoenix as a Faculty Development Administrator, Faculty, and Regional Lead Director of Academic Affairs. I retired from the University of Phoenix September of 2017. I am currently the President & CEO of the Wichita Black Nurses Association since January 2022. I have worked in the Wichita Community in partnership with other Health Care providers. During the Pandemic WBNA worked with Sedgwick County Health Department to provide Covid-19 Vaccines. Recently with GraceMed to provide Lab testing and education regarding the 29th & Grove Chemical Spill. The WBNA also partners with KU Medical Center facilitating a six-week prenatal class called “Baby Talk” an in- person course addressing many health concerns of black moms and babies
