SUMMARY:SCGD Member Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Sedgwick County Grassroots Democrats meetings are held the second Monday of each month. Meet & greet begins at 6:00 PM. The meeting is called to order at 6:30. Guests are welcome.\nFeatured speakers are:\nKaty Tyndell candidate for KS District 4 &\nLogan DeMond of ACLU\n\nKaty Tyndell brings a strong background in law\, leadership\, and civic engagement to her campaign in KS-04. A fifth-generation Kansan\, she moved to Wichita from Washington\, D.C.\, where she was a staff attorney for the National Congress of American Indians. She now manages Tallgrass Management\, LLC\, overseeing operations and serving as legal advisor for affiliated family companies.\nKaty is a co-founder of the civic engagement organization Leading Kansas\, the former chair of the Sedgwick County Fire District Steering Committee\, and a long-time volunteer for Moms Demand Action and the Wichita NAACP. She holds a B.A. from Stanford (2004) and a J.D. from the University of Maryland (2009)\, and is licensed to practice law in four states\, including Kansas. Her legal expertise\, nonprofit leadership\, and deep Kansas roots guide her work to advance civic renewal\, accountability\, and cross-partisan dialogue. She’s inspired daily by her husband and their three children to help build a stronger\, more just Kansas.\nKaty Tyndale’s Website\n  \nLogan DeMond  \nBorn and raised in Broken Arrow\, Oklahoma\, Logan moved to Larned\, KS when he was fifteen. He attended Larned High School and lived with his mother and grandfather\, a lifelong Kansas farmer. Logan graduated from Bethel College where he played football and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts and history and political science.\nAfter getting his start in Wichita politics as Deputy Campaign Manager for former Mayor Brandon Whipple\, Logan moved to Topeka to serve as Legislative Director for the Kansas House Democrats and House Minority Leader Vic Miller. In addition to his legislative work\, in his role as Deputy Political Director and as a consultant\, Logan helped recruit a record number of female and minority candidates and worked with over 100 municipal and state legislative candidates across Kansas.\nLogan joined the ACLU as Director of Policy and Research in July of 2025.\n  \nAttending candidates are welcome to briefly speak later in the meeting. We encourage candidates to attend and speak at Grassroots Democrats meetings.
